CPI increased by 2.1% and PPI rose by 8.0% y-o-y in May

According to the information from the NBS, China’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.1% y-o-y and down by 0.2% m-o-m in April. Food price increased by 2.3% and non-food price went up by 2.1%. CPI went up by 2.1% in urban and 2.1% in rural areas compared with last year.

China’s Producer Price Index (PPI) went up by 6.4% y-o-y and up by 0.1% m-o-m. Purchase prices of raw materials increased by 10.8% y-o-y.
